I started this blog in order to chronicle my training for and involvement in an activity I have always wanted to try but never have. The intent of this blog is for the purpose of feed back.
I suppose I should explain what I am doing. I am entering my first strength competition (hence the name "Novice Muscle"). You know, the ones where the guys carry boat anchors, pull buses, and lift cars. I don't think this competition will be quite to that level, but this is my first so I don't really know what to expect.
The competition is only three weeks away and I start training tomorrow after work. Don't get me wrong; I have been lifting weights and things to get into shape, but lifting free weights is very different from lifting boulders and flipping tractor tires. Tomorrow I start with the sport specific training where I actually practice doing the activities I will be competing in. This should be interesting.
So, if you come across this blog I would like feedback. Especially from anyone who has trained for and competed in one of these competitions. I will let you know how tomorrow goes.
