Here is a pic of my mighty mite. I missed a good one of him squatted down at that 25# pulling, grunting and growling for all he is worth (much like his daddy!). One day he will be power cleaning ten times that. For now it's a joy just to have him around.
As I said last night, this week is being spent figuring out my workout stategy for the big start next week. Each night I walk through that evening's program. I'm trying to figure out weight, be sure of my form, and organize my routine for maximum efficiency. Last night was chest and back which is kind of a no brainer. Tonight was legs which requires a little more creativity. Has anyone out there done much with the hack squat? It is one of the most awkward exersises I have done. I am doing it because I don't have a squat rack or a sled. It is the best I can do for now! If anyone has any suggestions please comment.
My legs have been my week link. I did terrible in the truck pull event last year because my legs were just not what the should have been(or maybe I didn't use enough HGH!;). One of my main goals is to make a major improvement in my legs. If I have to hack squat to get it started, great!
I thought that my grip was an issue as well, but found out that I have a good grip and that my regular workouts will probably keep my grip strength where it needs to be. Having long arms and legs is a challenge when trying to build muscle in those parts. I remember working out with a guy who was about 8" shorter than me and could really put up the weight. I realized then how much more of a accomplishment it was for us tall guys to put up big numbers. I am glad that I am not completely long and lean. I hope I can pack on the power quickly and effectively.
