I have been refraining from sweets and caffeine for about two weeks now. I decided to step off the wagon for a day in honor of Valentines day and a homemade Death by Chocolate Cake!! I have really noticed the sugar highs and lows today. I am still staying away from caffeine. I don't need the stuff now. I am back on the wagon as of tonight.
So far I think the no sugar/caffeine strategy is working. My energy level has stabilized and has been gradually improving. Just the fact that I got through the caffeine/sugar withdrawal headaches and haven't had the highs and lows in my energy level has made a difference. On top of that though I am seeing my energy level gradually increase. I don't get a lot of sleep so using nutrition to improve my level of energy has been a real help.
