Cross Training
I have been considering switching up my workout on the advice of a couple friends. I think a break from the heavy lifting will do my body, especially my joints some good. I am working on a routine that involves some Cross Fit, some Spartan 300, and some traditional cross training. I am going to incorporate strongman apparatus into training as well. I am looking to accomplish several goals. First I would like to give my joints a break from heavy lifting and improve my muscular strength and endurance. The second goal would be to loose weight. I was considering the Sparta strongman competition and believe that I would be much more competitive if I could drop a weight class. What is involved in dropping a weight class? Loosing at least 30#. That's 30# in the next two months! That is a fairly lofty goal for me as I have not been worrying about my weight to this point. Goal three is to improve my overall cardio and aerobic fitness. I get winded too easily in competitions and want to improve that weakness. Lofty goals but I am excited to give it a go.
