Two weeks 'till strongman

Wow, I haven't blogged for almost four months now. I have missed the accountability this blog has offered. I still have my friends who keep me on track. Much has happened in the last few months but I'm not going to get into that right now. This post is an update for any who may have followed this blog and are wondering where I have been.

The Haugen competition is two weeks from yesterday and I am getting really excited. My training has gotten very specific and I am trying to focus on my weakest events. I have improved since last year and am excited about that. My times have dropped dramatically across the board and my weights have increased quite a bit.

I know my chief competitor has been training too and he is 17 years younger than me. This causes a little concern for my success at Haugen, but I am there to glorify God, have fun , and hopefully put on a good show for the crowd; and if I have what it takes to win that is gravy. Don't get me wrong, I want to win, but its not like there is anything that important on the line here. I realize that I am not young for this sport and that a 19 year old stud should beat me.

All that said, I have been doing the best I can to train and am in the best shape I have been in for at least the last seven or eight years. I don't know what the outcome will be but I do know that I love to compete.
